Funding

There are a number of funding opportunities available to individuals and businesses to support training and workforce development needs in Western Australia, through the Department of Training and Workforce Developments Future Skills WA program. The Future Skills WA program provides a guaranteed subsidized training place for eligible students enrolled in courses that are deemed State priority qualifications. Future Skills WA courses are classified as: The main two differences between these streams is that:
  • students are guaranteed a place in a Priority Industry Training course but not in General Training or Foundation Skills; and
  • Each of the course streams are subject to different fee and subsidy levels
JSW is a contracted supplier with the Western Australian Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) to deliver training programs under all streams.

Fees

Effectively subsidized funding through the WA State Government Department of Training and Workforce Development Future Skills WA program contributes to the total cost of training for a student, in addition to the student/employer paying mandatory enrolment fees.

Where a student enrolls in a publicly funded training program, the student enrolment fees and charges under the Future Skills WA program are outlined in accordance with the 2017 Vet Fees and Charges Policy.

The majority of qualifications available through JSW attract subsidized funding places which are listed on the Priority Industry Training, Traineeship, Participation and Equity course section of the Future Skills WA website.

The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply, such as consumable and resource fees. All subsidised funded programs through JSW are eligible for Concession Fee Rate (50% discount). Additionally students can put payment plans in place and have fees deducted from their Centrelink payments. Financial hardship is also available for students that demonstrate that they can not afford to pay for their training and that they meet all the required criteria.

Where a qualification attracts fees in excess of $1,500, JSW will not ask you to pay more than $1,500 at any one time.
