UNIQUE STUDENT INDENTIFIER (USI)

What does my USI do?

Your USI links to an online account which contains all your training records which you have completed from 1 January 2015 onwards.

One of the main benefits of having a USI is having easy access to your training records and transcripts. When applying for a job or enrolling in further study, you often need to provide these records. You will be able to access your USI account online anytime from your:

  • computer
  • tablet
  • smart phone

Creating a Unique Student Identifier (USI) will only take a few minutes and it is free. You only need to create a USI once and it will stay with you for life. After you create your USI, you then need to give it to each training provider you train with when you enrol.

Although most students create their own USI, some training providers will be able to create a USI for you, with your permission. Your training provider may do this at enrolment or when you begin studying. Your training provider will let you know if they provide this service.

If you already have a USI you can retrieve your USI or password.

Once you create your USI you will be able to:

  • give your USI to each training provider you study with
  • view and update your details in your USI account
  • view and download your training records and transcript
  • manage which training providers can view your transcript
  • manage which training providers can view and/or update your details in your USI account

I want to know more about the USI

More information about the USI can be found in the About section.

CENSUS DATE

What is a census date and why is it important to you?

Each unit of competency that you study has its own census date, this date is determined as 20% of your unit of competency delivery.  It is important to know your census date as it is the deadline to withdraw from your enrolment and obtain a refund.

ADULT LEARNERS

Improve English and literacy

If you’d like to upgrade and improve your reading, writing and maths skills so that you can apply for other courses, then the Certificates in General Education for Adults (CGEA) are for you!  These can help open up further study and work options.

Professional development unit studies

We provide professional development short courses in leadership and management, project management and computing. These courses are designed to increase your knowledge and expertise, giving you a competitive edge in the marketplace and enhancing your employability.

You can choose to study most courses in small classes or take advantage of the flexible study options, which allow you to fit your study around your other commitments.

Be recognised for skills you already have

Did you know you might be able to receive a qualification without going through formal training?
If you have existing skills, knowledge and experience but not a formal qualification, then Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL) may an option for you.
Skills recognition of your experience may help you get that qualification you always wanted; improve your career prospects; gain a nationally recognised qualification in a shorter period of time by not learning what you already know; and provide a pathway to higher education and university.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

Recognition is available (on application) to students with prior skills, experience, knowledge, or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training, in a related area.
Recognition may reduce the duration of your studies.

The charge is $190 per unit
