(Part-time, 60 hrs per fortnight, 3 year fixed term) – Manjimup based

Our team is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker or highly skilled Youth Worker to be based out of our Manjimup office. The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualised support, case management support and diversionary activities for young people considered at risk, due to contributing factors that may cause young people to experience some form(s) of disadvantage.
You will work within the JSW “Youth South West Warren-Blackwood Program” (YSWP) to support the at risk young people to connect with appropriate support services, family members, peers and their communities using positive approaches that build on their skills and abilities; enhance strengths and develop resilience. Our services increasingly manage young people with complex support needs who are likely to have experienced multiple risk factors. Our services also support staff to access skills development opportunities to effectively deal with the emerging trends and complex needs of young people and work collaboratively to develop partnerships with complementary local services to ensure coordinated service provision for young people.
The 3 year contract is due to commence on Monday, 19 July 2021.

Essential to apply for this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have the required licences and qualifications:
- Minimum Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Youth Work/ Community Services/Social Work or related disciplines
- Minimum 12 months experience working with at risk young people
- Assessment, case work / case management services
- Direct service activities, referral networks and pathways
- Ability to form co-operative and collaborative relationships with other service providers.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Unrestricted Western Australian Driver’s Licence
- Ability to write sound reports
- Ability to work competently with the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
Candidates possessing the following skills and attributes are encouraged to apply:

- Work closely with the General Manager providing timely and accurate information.
- Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, consulting, negotiation, mediation and facilitation.

Certificate II Leadership Trainer
(Part-time, 4 days per week – Mon to Thurs) – Bunbury based

The Opportunity
Working 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) including 7.5 hours per fortnight for training related administration. This contract commences for Term 3 on 19 July 2021 and will conclude in September 2021 with the possibility of an extension for Term 4, subject to student enrolments for another program in October 2021. The role is based in Bunbury and the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting training and assessment and facilitating in-class workshops to the students in Certificate II Leadership; guiding them through their educational journey using a variety of methods of communication and facilitation skills.

Essential
To apply for this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have the following:
- You must be able to meet the current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Training and Accreditation Council (TAC) regulatory requirements for Trainers and Assessors; if you are uncertain whether you meet these requirements, you can check at the TAC website www.tac.wa.gov.au. Applicants that do not meet this requirement need not apply.
- Minimum Leadership qualifications , or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of industry experience in leadership role or within the Community Services sector
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one)
- Current Western Australian Driver’s Licence
Candidates possessing the following skills and attributes in addition to the essential criteria listed above are encouraged to apply:
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and computer skills
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of training and assessment in the VET sector
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work autonomously
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills
- Experience working in the small animal or pet industry.
