Kirsteen Cooper

Kirsteen Cooper, Career Development Officer, Busselton & Margaret River

I’ve been in the ‘helping people business’ my entire career. I’ve helped new business owners access the support they needed to set up successful enterprises. I’ve supported job seekers to meet their Centrelink obligations and aided people with disabilities to connect to their communities.

Having lived most of my life in the Wheatbelt, I understand the challenges and charms of living in regional WA. I also took a long career and study break to focus on my family, so I know how hard it can be to rebuild your confidence for returning to work.

In short, I find common ground with many of my clients, and I’m an excellent listener.

I work one day a week at the Busselton Jobs and Skills Centre and one day at Margaret River. We have a great workplace culture built on trust, energy, and mutual support. I love helping people from many backgrounds figure out what they’re good at and find meaningful work.

Outside work, you’ll find me playing, managing and fundraising for my
sports-mad family’s many clubs. Soccer, basketball, and tennis all feature but hockey rules! I’m currently the Manager of Robins Hockey Club’s Southwest Women’s League Team (Go Busselton!)

My ideal weekend is spent watching sports, followed by grabbing our swags and our dog Hilda (who could definitely earn us a small fortune as a social media star) and going camping.
