Leanne

Leanne

When she couldn’t score a bed in a friend’s house, Leanne was homeless.
When we met her, she was using drugs and alcohol heavily and often in trouble with the police.

A victim of severe childhood violence and trauma, Leanne had also been referred to Waratah for therapeutic counselling and support.

 How we helped

First things first, Leanne needed a safe place to live.  We supported her in applying for and winning a place at Richmond Fellowship’s supported residential program in Bunbury.

Then we connected Leanne to WACHS (a community mental health service) and a job provider.

What changed for Leanne
Secure housing and solid mental health support allowed Leanne to stabilise her life and continue her recovery journey.

When we last spoke to her, Leanne felt she had much better mental health and increased confidence. She was also applying for work.
