Posy Barnes, Chief Executive Officer (JSW), Director, Bunbury Regional Community College
My early careers were in Public Relations, marketing, and management in Australia and overseas. And I still enjoy integrating all of those into my role as CEO at JSW. After almost twenty years at the helm of JSW, I can also claim oodles of expertise and experience in employment and training.
As CEO, I lead JSW’s Training, Community Services, and Corporate divisions, overseeing our large and ever-evolving range of projects designed for ‘making a positive difference to people’s lives’ – that’s our Vision!!
As Director of Bunbury Regional Community College, a Curriculum and Reengagement in Education (CaRE) School we established in 2018, I continue to guide the school’s strategic development and governance.
I’ve a hundred reasons to be proud of JSW.
Our extraordinary team consistently go the extra mile and then some to help ensure our clients have every opportunity to succeed.
Our wow-worthy track record in innovative education and training stretches from re-engaging young people for whom mainstream school simply doesn’t work to flexibly delivered diplomas enabling people to take their careers to the next level.
Our Youth and NDIS programs tap into deep community networks to draw on the exact right support our clients need to realise their goals and re-connect and excel in their communities.
In short, I’m super proud to lead an organisation that’s always thought and acted outside the box. We’ve stayed nimble and curious and navigated through decades of turbulence and change in the training and community services sectors. JSW’s never been pigeonholed, nor have we ever rested on our laurels.
JSW’s capacity to support our clients to live their best lives is inextricably linked to the economic and social vitality of our beautiful South West region. Hence, I’m as passionate about regional development as I am about nurturing the growth and well-being of my organisation.
I’ve served on the South West Development Commission Board, RDA South West, as chair and Deputy Chair.
When I’m not championing the best educational, economic, and social interests of JSW’s clients or our entire region, you’ll find me trying to stay fit, cooking up a coronation quiche, entertaining and spending time with my huge, mad, multicultural family.
