ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATION
Your Trainer& Assessor will discuss your course specifics…
- Course information, including core units of competency and elective
units of competency - Student Study Plan
- Assessment Extensions – a request to your Trainer and Assessor must be
made via email for an extension (prior to the due date on your Student Study Plan) - JSW Business Rules – students can ONLY be enrolled

ASSESSMENT SUBMISSIONS
- Every assessment submission MUST include a completed and signed Student Assessment Cover Sheet;
- Trainers & Assessors will make available both a hard copy and an electronic version of the Student Assessment Cover Sheet.
- Before you submit your assessment, please ensure that you take a copy for your records;
- Trainers & Assessors will provide an email address for assessment submissions, which will provide
student with a receipt ofdelivery via return email.

ASSESSMENT SUPPORT
LANGUAGE, LITERACY AND NUMERACY
Each training package sets a minimum requirement in language, literacy and numeracy skills of participants, with which JSW must abide.
JSW makes appropriate concessions for language, literacy and numeracy issues of students where these concessions do not compromise the requirements of the relevant Training Package and the integrity, equity and fairness of

WITHDRAWING FROM YOUR COURSE
Each unit of competency that you study has its own census date, this date is determined as 20% of your unit of competency delivery.
If you choose to withdraw you must withdraw officially by close of business on the census date (or before) using the Enrolment Adjustment Form (located on the website).
Your census date for each unit of competency is indicated on your statement of fees.
It is your responsibility to check if you still owe fees even if you withdraw.
Note: If students do not officially withdraw, within the limits as previously explained, they will still be liable for full payment of any outstanding fees.

FEES AND CHARGES
HOUSEKEEPING
CLASS AND BREAK TIMES
Classes commence at
You are entitled to breaks: Morning break 15mins – Lunch break 30mins
The times are allocated for each classroom. Your trainer will advise you of your break times.
ABSENCES
If you are going to be absent for any period of time, or need to start late or finish early, your trainer needs to be advised by either via text, phone or e-mail prior to class

JSW is not responsible for any personal property left unsupervised in classrooms.
We have a large number of students from different programs attending JSW. Please be mindful of this when leaving valuables in classrooms.
There is a bike rack located at the front of the training facility at number 5 Bourke Street and at the rear of the Busselton Training Centre. It is your responsibility to lock your bike/scooter if you choose to use it
As an adult learning
When on your breaks please stay on JSW premises and do not loiter around adjoining businesses.
If you are a smoker, there is only one assigned smoking area for each location. Your Trainer & Assessor will advise where this area is located when you undertake your site orientation
- DO leave the toilet as you find it – clean and tidy.
- DO let your Trainer & Assessor know if the toilet has run out of hand soap, towels or toilet paper.
- DO put all sanitary items in the designated sanitary bin… do not flush them.
- DO NOT graffiti, damage, dirty any of the toilet facilities.
- DO NOT smoke in the toilets.
KITCHEN & WHERE TO BUY FOOD
JSW Bunbury and Busselton have kitchen facilities for students to store/heat/cook their lunch.
These include:
- Student Fridge
- Tea and coffee making facilities (not the Espresso making equipment or machine)
- Microwave
- Stove/oven
Tea/coffee/sugar and milk are provided for students in all training facilities including Mandurah.
If you did not cook it, bring it or create it …. You do not eat it.
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CLEAN UP AFTER USE.
If you choose to purchase your lunch there are a few cafes close by that you can attend in your breaks.
ALCOHOL, ILLICIT DRUGS, PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES
Are not tolerated at JSW
When on JSW property or involved in a JSW activity, Students must not:
- Be in possession of any alcohol, illicit drugs, non-prescribed medication or other prohibited substances.
- Consume/smoke/inhale/inject any alcohol, illicit drug or other prohibited substances
- Possess any drug-related equipment such as syringes (except in cases of lawful medical use), pipes, or other smoking implements, etc. (Misuse of Drugs Act 1981) or equipment related to the use of alcohol, drug or
substance related products; - Deliberately inhale solvents or any other substances;
Possess or use prohibited drugs in accordance withMisuse of Drugs Act 1981;- Arrange for distribution or the sale or purchasing of any of the above mentioned.

- Knives
- Guns
- Nunchucks
- Knuckle dusters
- Anything that can be considered a weapon or cause damage to people and/or property
- Spray paint
- Petrol
- Any pornographic or indecent images/videos/magazines

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, THEFT OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
JSW defines criminal activity as breaking the law as per state or federal law. This may include but is not limited

- If it is not yours do not touch it, take it, use it unless you have permission from the owner
- If it is not yours do not break it or damage it in any way
Any theft or damage to any property belonging to JSW, staff or students will NOT BE TOLERATED.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION
JSW has 3 phases of disciplinary action for any behavioural breaches.
- Verbal warning
- Written Warning
Serious breaches or a combination of the above 2 can result in Expulsion.
You will be notified of any breaches and given an opportunity to discuss any behavioural breaches.
BULLYING, HARRASSMENT AND/OR INTIMIDATION
Bullying is when an individual or group misuses power to target another individual or group to intentionally threaten or harm them on more than one occasion. This may involve verbal, physical, relational and psychological forms of bullying. Teasing or fighting between peers is not necessarily bullying.

BULLYING includes any form of verbal, emotional/psychological, physical, cyber or as a bystander, to any student, member of staff or visitor to JSW.

If there is a medical situation advise a JSW staff member ASAP.
If you are under the age of 18 or you are unable to respond, your emergency contact will be notified in the event of a First Aid or medical situation.
JSW will not transport students to
We try our hardest to ensure safety in our workplace however, we need your help to ensure it stays safe!
If you see:
- An Injury – staff, students or visitor
- An accident – in or around our premises or vehicles
- A Hazard – no matter how small, or
- An incident
You need to report this to a JSW staff member as soon as possible. We will support you to fill out the appropriate forms
In the event of an emergency or

Every term at random, JSW will hold an evacuation/fire drill which students must participate in.
We encourage feedback to ensure the safety of everybody involved.
