JSW is an amazing support provider
Everyone is so nice, and they welcomed me on my first day. They have helped me with everything on my pathway to employment – preparing my resume, transport to and from my training course, building my confidence and doing mock interviews to help with my interview preparation.
I’m glad I found JSW.

I was a 16-year-old dropout when I started at JSW
I thought I had no path. Now I’m 18 and about to start my diploma. I don’t know where I’d be without your help. You guys really boosted my confidence and helped me prepare for my future job. I really appreciate everything you did.

Our so-not-your-average-youth programs
Stable funding for youth programs is hard to come by. But The WA Department of Communities has funded our programs since 2000. We’re immensely grateful for their ongoing vote of confidence in community-driven programs that change young people’s lives.

Youth South West (YSW)
Bunbury, Busselton & Margaret River
The JSW Youth South West (YSW) program is delivered across the Bunbury, Busselton and Margaret River regions, supporting young people aged 12-18. YSW is funded by the Department of Communities – Child Protection and Family Support.
YSW provides a holistic case management support service from our regional offices and outreach areas. Working from a strength based and empowerment perspective, YSW will work alongside young people to identify personal strengths in order to enhance their resilience and build capacity.
YSW offers informal counselling, advocacy, mediation, referrals to specialist agencies and support to access recreation and creative activities. The program has a strong focus on education and training, work experience/work placement and support to gain a learner’s permit.
Referral documentation is available online or a self-referral can be made.

Maegen helped me when I was in one of the worst places of my life
She helped me piece it all back together. She was never judgemental and always supportive; she knew the right services to help connect me to. She helped me re-engage in school. She worked with student services to modify my timetable, which took so much pressure off. She really listened to me and helped me find the things I love doing.’

JSW is proud to deliver support to the only CaRE (Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education) School in the South West.
JSW devised and developed the school called Bunbury Regional Community College in 2018. The school provides an alternative fully registered school for students in years 10-12 who have found it difficult or impossible to maintain their attendance in mainstream schooling. The small, personalised and flexible nature of BRCC is designed to provide the safety and support that at risk students need for success.
